Puna is one of the more affordable areas on the island and is a perfect place to get away from it all. It is a rural area that has seen a lot of volcanic activity and has remained fairly undeveloped. The main towns of this district are Keaau, Pahoa and Kalapana. Many residents here don’t mind the commute into Hilo, because they appreciate the quiet and comfort that only a small district like Puna can provide.
