Prudential Locations Releases First Fine Homes Real Estate Report


Detailed overview of high-end real estate market conditions shows major variations among neighborhoods and where buyers for luxury homes originate.

HONOLULU (NOVEMBER 7, 2006) – Prudential Locations Fine Homes Division today released its first quarterly Fine Homes Report to help consumers understand high-end real estate market conditions and to make informed buying and selling decisions. The new quarterly report – which is available in full at www.PrudentialLocations.com -- includes detailed neighborhood information for the highest priced areas on Oahu, as well as a breakdown of where homebuyers in these areas come from.

For homes priced above $1 million, it’s most important to look at a specific neighborhood’s recent sales activity to get a clear and accurate picture of the price trends. In the first Fine Homes Report, comprehensive area graphs illustrate the factors impacting home sales including median price, price per square foot, days on market, number of sales, and percent of list price from the first quarter of 2004 to second quarter of 2006.

“The higher-priced real estate market functions a little differently than the market in general, and so buyers and sellers of these homes need neighborhood-specific data to help them navigate that,” said Bill Chee, President and CEO of Prudential Locations.. “Our new Fine Homes Report is meant to help our clients make the best decision possible.”

Each report will also include additional information on the high end market aimed at informing both buyers and sellers about trends in their area. The first report contains a buyer mobility study, showing where buyers of $1 million-plus homes originate. This is key to helping sellers understand how to market their home and use marketing dollars effectively.
